Critical Factors You Should Know About Flags
Hardware
Make sure the flag pole system has ‘male/female’ connections. Several flag systems use telescopic poles, but they tend to collapse in NZ’s strong winds. The shaft must be composite fibre with a solid resin based tapered tip.
The single biggest recipe for flag failure is having an incorrect tip on the pole. Too thick and it will penetrate the spline in no time at all, too light and the flag will lose it's shape.
Double roller bearings inside the base mount. Critical for smooth rotation in windy conditions, meaning less wear and tear on the poles.
Flag Material
New Zealand made fabric specifically for our windy conditions. It produces more consistent printing than Chinese material, and the extra robustness prolongs it's use - and your investment!
Print Process
Chinese or European inks? We have tested both over long periods of time and discovered that Chinese inks fade about twice as fast as European ones.
Full colour printing means you can have complex graphics and photos. These images are even more eye catching when using special double-sided material. A flag is used for its “visual bite” effect, all the more reason to maximise your message by creating “WOW FACTOR” graphics.
